Privacy Policy

AJ Tapes has no accounts, no ads, no analytics, and no tracking. We don't collect, sell, or share personal data. Your favorites live in your own iCloud, your listening history stays on your device, and the music streams straight from Archive.org.
01What the apps store
Everything the apps remember about you stays under your control:
- Favorites are saved in your personal iCloud key-value storage and synced between your devices by Apple. They never touch our servers, and we cannot read them.
- Listening history ("Continue Listening" progress) is stored only on the device itself.
- Settings — like your chosen visualizer — are stored only on the device itself.
Deleting the app deletes its on-device data. Favorites in iCloud are removed by un-favoriting, or by clearing the app's iCloud data in your device settings.
02What our server sees
The apps fetch the show catalog — artists, dates, venues, track listings — from our API at api.stagecouch.net. The server keeps no per-request access log — no IP address, no record of which shows you browse, no search terms. If the service hits an error, a short diagnostic trace may be recorded so we can fix the bug; it isn't linked to you and is routinely discarded. We run no analytics, and no crash- or performance-monitoring service.
Catalog requests carry no account, name, email, or device identifier — because none exist in AJ Tapes.
03Audio & artwork come from Archive.org
Recordings in AJ Tapes are hosted by the Internet Archive as part of the Aadam Jacobs Collection. When you play a show or load artwork, your device requests those files directly from archive.org, so the Internet Archive's own terms and privacy policy govern those requests. AJ Tapes hosts no audio.
04Crash reports
If — and only if — you have opted in to sharing analytics with app developers in your Apple device settings (or you're using a TestFlight beta), Apple provides us anonymized, aggregated crash reports through App Store Connect. We use them to fix bugs. We run no crash-reporting or analytics SDK of our own.
05The website
ajtapes.org is a static page: no cookies, no analytics, no tracking scripts, no embedded third-party content. Its web server keeps the same kind of ordinary, short-lived technical logs described above.
06Email
If you write to us, we receive whatever you send — usually your email address and your message. We use it only to reply and to fix whatever you reported. It is never added to a mailing list, sold, or shared.
07Children
AJ Tapes is not directed at children. Since the apps collect no personal data from anyone, they collect none from children either.
08Changes
If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted at this address with an updated effective date. Given the app's design — no accounts, no data collection — meaningful changes are unlikely.
